Drift Boat Fly-Fishing
Stretching 90 miles in length from it's headwaters in the central Oregon Cascades, the McKenzie River heads south and west through the Willamette National Forest to the confluence with the Willamette River west of Springfield, Oregon, near Eugene. The McKenzie River drift boat is the highlight of fly-fishing on the river. Prince Helfrich and Leroy Pruitt fashioned the famous McKenzie River drift boat, an open-water dory designed to improve maneuvering in river rapids.
